Can I have a year off from the world to just read?

You certainly have my permission to do so.
Gosh, wouldn't that be a great thing?
What's on your TBR pile?

So many books in my TBR pile, both physical and e-books. I'm just about done with the final book of Greg Keyes Kingdoms of Thorn and Bon. After that it's wide open. I've got the last 2 George RR Martin A Song of Ice and Fire books, Brian Ruckley's Godless World Trilogy, plus books by Karen Miller, Kate Elliott, Sherwood Smith, and so many more.

I've been concentrating on epic fantasy but might take a side road into something different before I dive back into one of the many different series I'm in the middle of.

And then looming out there is the reread of the first half of Wheel of Time and then the rest to finally finish the entire series.

And that doesn't even touch upon books for research or tech books for work.

What are you reading?

I finished George R.R. Martin's last installment over the summer. I had to buy it for my kindle because I was travelling and the book was so deliciously thick but awfully heavy. I just finished re-reading Stephen King's Bag of Bones (I like to celebrate October as Halloween month and treat myself to scary stuff in books and movies). Now I'm reading J.K. Rowling's new book, A Casual Vacancy.
I had a thought - why not treat yourself to a day off of reading? Call out sick or take a personal day and then dedicate it to just reading, nothing else.
