The iPad

So, I managed to get my hands on one of the new iPads for a few minutes. Seems like a pretty cool device. What I was mainly interested in is the iBook app. This one had that downloaded for free and had Winnie the Pooh book. The iBook app is real nice. The pages are clear and easy to read. The iPad swivels the screen automatically as you move the iPad around. So, if you prefer a wider screen or a longer screen you can have your preference.

One thing I noticed was you have to be careful just how much you tilt the iPad. It seemed pretty sensitive and would think you were turning it all the way and flip the view around without you intending to.

The pages on the iBook reader turned in an instant, with a cool little graphic effect of an actual page turning. I didn't have time to test out any features the iBook might have, such as setting a bookmark or enlarging the text. Hopefully, I'll be able to play around with it again (we have it at work) to see how those features might work.

Now if only someone would show up at work with a Kindle...
