Sept 11th

This is always a strange day for me. I still remember the city that day, watching the Towers just a few blocks down from the Empire State Building grateful for getting out of bed a little later than I had planned. My original goal that morning was to head downtown to that area but decided to hold off until lunchtime.

Anyway, for me the strangest thing was actually Sept 12th when just about all of Manhattan was shut down. Walking around and having the streets clear of any traffic at all (except the occasional emergency vehicle) was just surreal.

One thing pops into my head on this day every year. I hear Nicol Williamson as Merlin saying: "for it is the doom of Man that they forget."
